Changes / I Wanted Us To Be (single)

1.
Changes 02:59
These are changes that break your world in two, crowding over the things you wanted to do. Pressure building in your heart to take the easy route- give them something to admire and leave nothing for you. These are decisions that aren't easy to make, clouded vision, crowded skies in their wake. Pressure building in your chest- why does this feel like a mistake? Give them something to aspire to and then just hide beyond your gates.
2.
I wanted us to be the first port you came to the light at the end of any tunnel you were in. I wanted us to help you seek and discover the other side of darkness where the healing can begin. But now we've found a solution that doesn't involve you and you've found a way to breathe that pollution and make it into something that is beautiful and true. I wanted us to be the next thing you needed the green in the leaves and the water on the ground. I wanted us to find a path that gave you freedom to run in the sunlight and to feel it raining down. But now we've found an existence, so ill at ease, and you've found a being that laughs at subsistence, that sees what it wants and it wants all it sees. That sees what it wants and it wants all it sees.
