Lie 07:01
No one to blame for the last time it’s the first time I’ve really looked Consider it now, in the half light, was that one lie all that it took In the first case a broken dialogue hangs, two small statues of some imagined flair The rain on the roof, the mud on the floor the easygoing stares, in the last case, I know, I know, you leave your soul on the outside of the door Draw up your own map, my friend, stay out of mine Take your own directions now, look at you fly. Hey, look at the time! Is it running out or is it running dry? No one to blame for the first time but it’s a pastime to carry on the search Consider it now: like it’s all mine like it’s high time, to just play the game? In the first case a broken dialogue hangs, two small statues of some imagined flair The rain on the roof, the mud on the floor the easygoing stares, in the last case, say it: there’s nothing there, I know, cos you've left your soul on the outside of the door Draw up your own map, my friend, stay out of mine Take your own directions now, look at you fly. Hey, well now you know what it’s like to be stuck on the outside, but to be in on the lie.

Loner 03:27
You’re a loner, running out in the night won’t stop till you get things right, and all of the while she’s been following your tracks but you’re never even looking back ‘cos you’re a loner at heart, you are a loner at heart You’re a loner with yourself to blame, ‘cos there’s nothing to lose if you’re not in the game and if you look back to the day she found you she was never going to understand you ‘cos you’re a loner at heart, you are a loner at heart You will be alone, one of these days you will be alone, one of these days but don’t go away, I wouldn’t know what to say to her

Chimera, won’t you show me a way to get over it? 'cause there’s not much time to change our minds. In the sunlight there’s a whole other place that I’m drawn to and I keep on looking out for you. At the weekend, all trials are at bay for a little while but they keep on pressing from both sides like a vision of a mysterious spirit that lifts the room a chimera cleaves my soul in two.

209 03:53
A day of the most peculiar kind, I never did mind- I'm too far down the line. All my sorrow on the gate powering out this bad state. Gone back to the county line caught in a Peugeot 209 His motivation is not yet called upon, he's a victim of his own crime. I came to the turning down the drive but never arrived, turned straight around. Cold feet, cold on the ground, footprints could never be found. Gone back to the county line caught in a Peugeot 209 His motivation is not yet called upon, he's a victim of his own crime.

Afloat 04:39
Well, the line runs thinner than ever before between the joy of freedom and the fear of being caught. oh, I’ve been wondering, does it all come to naught? oh, well I’ve been wondering, are we all in the same boat? ‘cause we’re not really sailing but we’re staying afloat. Can’t see the shore no more but that’s no reason to gloat oh, I’ve been wondering, did you really catch all those fish? ‘cos I followed your advice- John 21:6 but it came back emptier than before. everything is on hold now, in this endless pursuit feels like the trail has run cold now- has that happened for you? Oh, well I’ve been wondering, did you really really have to? 'cause fortune favours the brave, but I was braver than you. oh, I’ve been wondering, does it all come to naught? oh, well I’ve been wondering, are we all in the same boat? ‘cause we’re not really sailing but we’re staying afloat. We're not really sailing but we're still staying afloat.

Even through the dark, dark, dark days there was never a doubt how this would end, there was never an 'if', just a 'when'. But now I've moved on some way look back over all that time again- is it a waste that time I've spent? But it's already over, it's already gone. Are we just slaves to a system we create? Are we just slaves to a system? 'I guess I thought that my whole, whole, whole life Look back and I wonder if it's just me- am I the one who isn't free?' But it's already over, it's already gone. Are we just slaves to a system we create? Are we just slaves to a system? I guess we just move back, back, back and forth between the extremities of thought: are we the captors or the caught? But it's already over, it's already gone. It's already over, it's already gone.

Dormant 03:57
So many today are just happy to be dormant- it's a feeling that comes so naturally. To lie on the waves, and float on the ocean: the simplest of motions. So I get confused about my generation- where's our confidence in future? These weekly celebrations are just moments, fulfilling but hollow, to meet in a crowd and follow. So many today are just happy to be dormant- it's a feeling that keeps coming back to me. But it's such a long time till tomorrow- to be in a crowd and follow.

Wake up, it's a new year morning, a new year dawning on you. All those possibilities- can they ever deliver? Wake up, it's a new year calling, a new year calling on you. New responsibilities, and you're caught in the middle. You always think of everyone you've got the least to prove- how wrong you are. You always think of everyone you've got the least to lose- how wrong you are- look in the mirror. Wake up, oh, the lightbulb's blown and it's dark around your head. There's a puzzle in your head and the pieces are missing. Wake up, another voice has spoken- it's the one you've kept at bay, saying "there's something in your way, but there's a light you can draw from this thing." You always think of everyone you've got the least to prove- how wrong you are. You always think of everyone you've got the least to lose- how wrong you are- look in the mirror. And you don't look back on the things you used to say and you don't keep track of all the pathways in your mind. Well, you can't take stock of what you're doing every day but you can't keep pushing on blind. Wake up, it's a new year morning, a new year dawning on you. All those possibilities- can they ever deliver? You always think of everyone you've got the least to prove- how wrong you are. You always think of everyone you've got the least to lose- how wrong you are- look in the mirror.

Clouds 04:12
The clouds are clearing far away, a blank new page, but you cannot seem to find a way to start again. The sun was breaking through the clouds yesterday but it never seems to dry out all your old mistakes. The sleepless nights that people passed for you, the pain of being saddled with the weight of truth. It’s something I’d take in my stride, walking blue with the fear and guilt of starting to resent what I can’t do- to lift your head up from that big wooden desk, to catch what’s left of summer now, to feel that warmth that you’ve not often felt- wish there was some way we could help. One sky with clouds full of snow and one of rain and I think how love and friendship sometimes toll on you the same. That burning wish to know and fight their pain and shape the clouds into faces that could make them smile again. To salvage something good from such a mess, to join the dots between the good days, to feel that warmth and settle for nothing less- wish there was some way we could help but the power to change is locked inside yourself.

Bilzerian 02:04
Love has a strange way of pulling you down, you know? Skate on thin ice, don’t fall through the cracks, or you’ll drown below. And it’s always seemed a strange leap of faith to me. Nothing is perfect, nothing is cheap, nothing’s interest-free. A gambler awakes: a cold sweat, shakes in the night, having that dream again that they have cast a light onto his life, the shadows of his past, onto the flight that’s led him further on down that path. Get out the smile, get out the press release, keep your eye on the prize- do you ever despise your avarice? Another girl, another town, you know, skate on thin ice, don’t fall through the cracks, or you’ll drown below.
11.
It’s that sudden moment when you’re swimming out from the beach- you feel the current turning, it’s pulling you out of reach You’ve been splashing around, looking at all the life but now you’re flailing, borne out on the tide And it’s a cold, cold day, when it happens but there is one long life leading on from this moment. There in the photographs, the people are all smiling, were they really such good times, or was it just good timing? Sometimes I wonder where the photos are of me. A summer’s day in the cool shade of a forest full of conifer trees And it’s a cold, cold day, when it happens but there is one long life leading on from this moment. Stand tall in the moonlight, stagger through the day There’s no glamour in summertime; the fields are just too far away You may feel like you’re on borrowed time, but all they do is steal. You may feel caught in the headlights, but they’re asleep at the wheel And it’s a cold, cold day, when it happens but there is one long life leading on from this moment.
